About the Project

In November 2020, Rancho Water will start construction on the Temecula Parkway Pipeline Replacement project. The project will replace nearly 8,000 feet or 1.5 miles of recycled water pipeline.  The pipeline runs under Temecula Parkway between Bedford Court and Rancho Pueblo Rd.

This pipeline has a critical role. It delivers recycled water for irrigation and landscaping to the community’s parks, restaurants, and businesses along Temecula Parkway.  When District customers use recycled water, it helps to free up more drinking water for cooking, showering or cleaning.  This pipeline alone helps to free up enough drinking water for approximately 16,000 people per year.

This pipe has experienced corrosion and requires replacement.  Replacing the pipeline now saves money and disruptions in the future by avoiding costly emergency repairs. The pipeline will be upgraded to a stronger material that is more resistant to corrosion and breaks.

The pipeline will be replaced on Temecula Parkway in four phases, moving from west to east. During construction, westbound Temecula Parkway will be reduced down to one lane. While access to neighborhoods and businesses will be maintained at all times, traffic delays are expected on Temecula Parkway. Alternate routes are available in all phases with the exception of Phase 1. Construction is anticipated to be complete by May 2021.

Rancho Water understands that construction is inconvenient.  We are committed to finishing the project as quickly and safely as possible and will keep you informed along the way.                        map showing the Pipeline Replacement project on Temecula Parkway
