Rancho Water has partnered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reduce water-wasting household leaks. Now is always the perfect time for our community to do its part in conserving water.

According to the EPA, household leaks can waste more than 1 trillion gallons of water annually nationwide. That's equal to the annual household water use of more than 11 million homes. The most common leaks in the home include worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, refrigerator ice-making units, and other leaking valves.

How to Get Involved

While the District is committed to helping our customers use water more efficiently through education and incentive programs, we also rely heavily on residents in our community to protect our water supply for future generations. There are several changes you can make to your everyday life that will contribute to our water efficiency goals. Here are some ways to get involved in Fix a Leak Week:

Receive a FREE Leak Kit

To celebrate Fix a Leak Week, Rancho Water will offer customers free leak kits. Kits will include a garden hose nozzle, faucet aerator, drip gauge, hose repair kit, toilet leak tablets, toilet flapper, and a Practical Plumbing Guidebook to aid homeowners with general plumbing repairs. Take the 10-Minute Challenge

Interested in saving water and money? In just 10 minutes, you can check your house for easy-to-fix leaks. Set a timer and for 10 minutes, walk around your home and start searching. 

  • Drop food coloring in your toilet tanks and replace the flappers if color shows up in the bowls
  • Tighten showerhead connections with a wrench and pipe type

Strike a pose for your chance to win a gift card during Fix a Leak Week (March 20-26, 2023). 

How to Enter:

1. Strike your best superhero pose! Take a photo in front of our "Water Heroes" display. Displays are available at the following locations:

  • Rancho Water's lobby (42135 Winchester Rd., Temecula, CA)
  • Promenade Mall near Cheesecake Factory (40820 Winchester Rd., Temecula, CA) 

2. Upload the photo to Facebook or Instagram. Add hashtag #RanchoWaterHero and tag Rancho Water

3. Enter by March 26, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. 

Finalists will be voted on by the public and winners will be announced on March 31, 2023. 

1st Place- $100 Lowe's gift card
