1. Why do I need a backflow device?: A backflow device would be needed if there is an auxiliary source of water on the property. Commercial, industrial, agricultural, and ag-domestic properties also require backflow protection, or the District can require one to be installed if there is cause to.

Who can install a backflow device?: Anyone can install a device; however, District approved Riverside County Certified Testers are responsible for performing accurate tests, and repairing or replacing devices that fail. Additionally, testers must report all repairs and test results to Rancho Water.
