Murrieta-Municipal Service Review

murrieta_City_Hall Picture To help address water supply and infrastructure concerns occurring in the western portion of the City of Murrieta, water providers formed the Water Infrastructure Ad-Hoc Committee (Water Committee) in 2017. The Committee is made of up of three water districts including: Western Municipal Water District (WMWD), Rancho California Water District (RCWD) and Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD). In December 2017, The Water Committee unanimously determined that the most appropriate course of action was to ask LAFCO to conduct a detailed Municipal Service Review to provide needed guidance for determining the most effective and efficient method of providing long-term water service to the area. This will include a broad overview of these services and the individual agencies that provide them.

On December 6, 2018, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) approved a consultant agreement with West Yost Associates to prepare a FMSR for the area that generally comprises the Murrieta Division of Western Municipal Water District.
